Anyone else hear about Lucas releasing the rights to make films based on Star Wars? Wouldn't this be great? The Star Wars universe has so many possiblities for stories and movies. Imagine the possibilitesAnd imagine unique directors or writer's take on this universe. Ridley Scott? Quentin Tarantino? Steven Spielberg? The list goes on and on. I'd like your input.

I think it would be great to see different takes on the Star Wars universe. Nothing against Lucas; unlike many, I actually like the new trilogy. But I would love to see a tv series, perhaps set in the times of the Old Republic or in the distant future.

It would be hard, I think, to set a series in the time of the movies, unless it was set peripherally to the action in the films. Maybe showing side events that intersect the movies, focusing on rebels and imperials and the like. Kind of like they do in the Dark Horse comics.

Maybe the success of the Clone Wars cartoon will win Lucas over . . .
